Visit the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Glasshouses which date back to 1832 and have been planned out by JC Loudon. These are admissible on a reasonable fee and are open daily. The gardens serve as the perfect picnic spot and attract family visits in particular. A great variety of plants can be found in the Glasshouses, such as cacti, desert plants as well as citrus fruits and water plants.
An epic chocolate based adventure takes the form of a tour of Cadbury World, which serves an educational purpose as well by giving visitors an insight into the development of Cadbury in the form of a full-scale replica of Bull Street where the first Cadbury outlet was located. There are some 3D features which allow for interaction but do remember to make an advanced booking on one of the many tours taking place everyday.
English architecture is brilliantly depicted in the 18th century Haglay Hall and Park, spread out over 350 acres with its own church and some colourful deer. The hall contains Van Dyke paintings and Rococo plasterwork as well as Chippendale furniture to add to the overall effect. It now belongs to Lord and Lady Cobham but was once in the possession of the Secretary to the Prince of Wales.
